Sec. 10.15.11.10. Unit Processing Operations — Bulk Storage and Transportation

  • The person-in-charge shall ensure that:

    A. Water stored in bulk or transported for bottling is from an approved source;

    B. A storage tank, hose, pump, and piping used for loading, transporting, and unloading water meet the requirements set forth in Regulation .08 of this chapter;

    C. A tank used to store drinking water is:

    (1) Not used for storage of a nonfood product;

    (2) Closed to exclude all foreign matter;

    (3) Vented in a sanitary manner; and

    (4) Sampled weekly and analyzed for coliform bacteria and standard plate count;

    D. The openings in a storage tank and tank truck are:

    (1) Protected from contamination;

    (2) Kept sealed or locked when water for bottling is not being transferred; and

    (3) Not susceptible to damage or tampering;

    E. A tank truck used to transport drinking water is:

    (1) Cleaned and sanitized as often as necessary to maintain a sanitary condition and at least once per week; and

    (2) Provided a number or other marking on the outside of the truck; and

    F. A record is made that:

    (1) Provides the following information for each batch of drinking water delivered:

    (a) Name of the water hauler;

    (b) Tanker truck number;

    (c) Date of shipment;

    (d) Name of seller;

    (e) Location of the source water; and

    (f) Date of delivery;

    (2) Is maintained for at least 2 years after the record is made; and

    (3) Is available for inspection by the Department.
