This chapter provides for cooperative rabies control efforts by the Department, local health officers, physicians, veterinarians, and other Maryland government agencies as guided by policy statements such as the Compendium of Animal Rabies Prevention and Control, issued annually by the National Association of State Public Health Veterinarians.
