  • A. Birth, Death, and Marriage Verification.

    (1) Verification of the facts contained on the vital records in this section may be furnished by:

    (a) The Secretary or, for births and deaths only, the local health officer of the county of the occurrence of the event, to any of the agencies cited in Regulation .08K of this chapter, in the conduct of their official duties; or

    (b) The Secretary to a government official who requests the verification in order to carry out the duties or functions of the official's office as specified in Public Law 108-458 or Public Law 109-13.

    (2) The verifications in §A(1) of this regulation shall be on forms prescribed by the Secretary or on comparable forms which are furnished by the requesting agency or government official and are acceptable to the Secretary.

    B. Divorce and Annulment of Marriage Verifications.

    (1) Verifications of the facts in this section shall be made available to persons who are authorized by either subject of the record, including those cited in Regulation .08K of this chapter.

    (2) The verifications in §B(1) of this regulation shall contain the:

    (a) Names of the parties involved;

    (b) Type of divorce action or annulment;

    (c) County in which the divorce or annulment action took place;

    (d) Date of the decree; and

    (e) Signature of the authorized representative of the Secretary.
