Sec. 09.10.02.30. Purses

A. Purses for all races run on State tracks shall be for an amount approved by the Maryland Racing Commission.

B. Any purse or reward affected by an appeal and withheld by order of the judges pending disposition of the appeal shall be retained by the racing association holding the meeting, and placed in an interest-bearing escrow account which shall be distributed, together with interest earned on the escrow account, upon final disposition of the appeal.

C. Purse money may not be distributed or used for claiming purposes sooner than 72 hours from the racing of the event in which the purse was earned, and it may not be withheld without cause for more than an additional 48 hours after that.
