A. All species of Trout and Salmon.
(1) The following apply from 8 a.m. the first Saturday after April 11 through Labor Day:
(a) The minimum size is 7 inches; and
(b) The daily catch limit is 5 (combined species).
(2) The following apply from 12:01 a.m. the day after Labor Day through the last day of February:
(a) The minimum size is 7 inches; and
(b) The daily catch limit is 3 (combined species).
(3) The season is closed from March 1 through 8 a.m. the first Saturday after April 11.
B. Bass - Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Spotted.
(1) The following apply from January 1 through the day before the first Saturday after April 11 and from November 1 through December 31:
(a) The minimum size is 15 inches; and
(b) The daily catch limit is 4 (combined species).
(2) The season is closed from 12:01 a.m. the first Saturday after April 11 through 12:01 a.m. the first Saturday after June 11.
(3) The following apply from 12:01 a.m. the first Saturday after June 11 through October 31:
(a) The minimum size is 12 inches; and
(b) The daily catch limit is 6 (combined species).
C. Muskellunge and Muskellunge Hybrids.
(1) There is no closed season.
(2) The minimum size is 40 inches.
(3) The daily catch limit is 1 (combined species).
D. Pickerel.
(1) There is no closed season.
(2) The minimum size is 18 inches.
(3) The daily catch limit is 4.
E. Northern Pike.
(1) There is no closed season.
(2) The minimum size is 24 inches.
(3) The daily catch limit is 2.
F. Walleye and Walleye Hybrids.
(1) The season is open only from:
(a) January 1 through March 14; and
(b) The first Saturday in May through December 31.
(2) The minimum size is 15 inches.
(3) The daily catch limit is 6.
G. Sauger.
(1) The season is open only from:
(a) January 1 through March 14; and
(b) The first Saturday in May through December 31.
(2) The minimum size is 12 inches.
(3) The daily catch limit is 6.
H. American Shad.
(1) There is no closed season.
(2) There is no minimum size.
(3) The daily catch limit is 3.
I. River Herring (Alewife and Blueback Herring).
(1) There is no closed season.
(2) There is no minimum size.
(3) The daily catch limit is 50 (combined species).
J. Gizzard Shad.
(1) There is no closed season.
(2) There is no minimum size.
(3) The daily catch limit is 50.
K. Striped Bass and Striped Bass Hybrids.
(1) There is no closed season.
(2) The minimum size is 20 inches.
(3) The daily catch limit is 2 (combined species).
L. Sunfish, Yellow Perch, White Perch, Crappies, Catfish, Rock Bass, Suckers, Carp, and White Bass.
(1) There is no closed season.
(2) There is no minimum size.
(3) The daily catch limit is 50 (combined species).
M. Bait Fish and Fish Bait.
(1) Except as closed in §Q of this regulation:
(a) Bait fish includes:
(i) All forms of the minnow family (Cyprinidae) except carp and goldfish;
(ii) Suckers, chubs, fallfish, and lampreys measuring less than 8 inches in length; and
(iii) All forms of darters, killifishes, and madtoms (stonecats); and
(b) Fish bait includes the nymphs, larvae, and pupae of all insects spending any part of their life cycle in the water.
(2) There is no closed season.
(3) There is no minimum size.
(4) The daily catch limit is 50 (combined species).
N. Mud Bugs (Dragonfly Nymphs).
(1) There is no closed season.
(2) There is no minimum size.
(3) There is no daily catch limit.
O. American Eel.
(1) There is no closed season.
(2) The minimum size is 9 inches.
(3) The daily catch limit is 25.
P. Crayfish.
(1) There is no closed season.
(2) There is no minimum size.
(3) The daily catch limit is 50.
(4) The head of the crayfish must be immediately removed behind the eyes upon capture unless used as bait in the water from which taken.
Q. There is no open season for:
(1) Species listed as endangered, threatened, or in need of conservation in COMAR 08.03.08;
(2) Any species of mussel;
(3) Any species of clam;
(4) Paddlefish (Polyodon spathula);
(5) Northern brook lamprey (Ichthyomyzon fossor);
(6) Mountain brook lamprey (Ichthyomyzon greeleyi);
(7) Lake sturgeon (Acipenser fulvescens);
(8) Atlantic sturgeon (Acipenser oxyrhynchus);
(9) Spotted gar (Lepisosteus oculatus);
(10) Hickory shad (Alosa mediocris);
(11) Cisco (Coregonus artedi);
(12) Northern redbelly dace (Phoximus eos);

(15) Ghost shiner (Notropis buchanani);
